The following legislation is relevant to the practise of Pharmacy in Tasmania.  Other legislation will apply to  other areas eg buildings, business applications etc.

Pharmacy Code
The Pharmacy Code is the collection of by-laws that provide practical guidance and direction to pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy in Tasmania.  These by-Laws  are made pursuant to Section 12 of the Pharmacists Registration Act 2001.  Contravention of the Pharmacy Code may constitute professional misconduct and result in disciplinary action under Part 4 of the Act. 

The most recently updated version of the Pharmacy Code became effective from July 2008. 

Pharmacy Inspection Checklist
Pharmacies in Tasmania are required to operate in accordance with the Pharmacy Code.  A checklist has been developed to assist pharmacists and board inspectors to monitor compliance with the code.
