ASSIGNMENT
II - DUE MONDAY 25 AUGUST 2008 Your second
assignment is attached to this bulletin. Please read the
instructions for completion carefully.
You are encouraged to complete your answers
electronically but you must submit a printed copy to
reach the Pharmacy Board office no later than 5.00pm on
Monday 25 August 2008. Emailed copies will
not be accepted. We recommend you use an express
post envelope so it can be traced.
Don't forget to make sure your
Preceptor has signed the front cover of your assignment
before you submit it.
HEALTH ASSIGNMENT Health Assignments are due to be
submitted by Thursday 31 July
2008. MID YEAR ASSESSMENTS Mid year Assessments should reach the
Board office by no later than 31 July
2008. APCAT & NFEC EXAMINATIONS -
MONDAY 18 AUGUST 2008 The APCAT and NFEC examinations will be held
in three locations. Hobart, Launceston and Burnie, on
Monday 18 August 2008. You are registered to sit
the exam in the location nearest to where you are
undertaking your GAP year. If you do need to
change the location please advise Yulia
ASAP.
Examination and venue
information will be verified by individual email to each
candidate closer to the day, the times for each exam are
expected to be as follows: APCAT: 9.30am - 12
noon (be at the venue by 9.00am) NFEC: 1.30pm
- 2.30pm (be back at the venue by 1.00pm)
You will need to
bring a current form of photo ID such as a drivers
license on the day.
APCAT - Permissible reference
material You may
bring and refer to the following texts during the exam
(remember to ensure you have current editions)
• Australian Pharmaceutical Handbook and
Formulary (APF) • Australian Medicines Handbook
(AMH).
Permissible
reference material may NOT contain annotations, hand
written notes, or loose additional notes. However, text
may be highlighted or flagged prior to the examination.
If you are unsure if your copy is acceptable please ask
either Jane or Cynthia to check it when they
visit.
Copies of
permissible reference material will not be available at
testing venues; neither will candidates be able to share
reference material so please make sure you bring them
with you.
As some
questions will require calculation, candidates should
bring a nonprogrammable, battery operated calculator
without an alphabet keyboard into the testing venue.
Other types of calculators will not be
allowed.

NFEC - Permissible reference
material The only
allowable texts for the NFEC Examination are: •
Standard for the Uniform Scheduling or Drugs and
Poisons(SUSDP) • relevant state or territory drugs
and poisons schedules • relevant state or territory
pharmacy Acts and Regulations • information from the
following website: http:// http://www.pbs.gov.au/
